Stratus Technologies

When Stratus Technologies decided to move their corporate headquarters to Mill & Main, VC wanted to employ a strategy that kept the integrity of the building by incorporating its 150-year old history into the design by meshing the old and the new. The combination of open workspace, fewer private offices, and exposed brick and beams allow for a flowing balance of innovation and collaboration throughout. Neighborhoods were formed break up the large floor plate encouraging a more energetic environment. Collaboration spaces were developed for teams to be able to work together in technology equipped open teaming areas. Acoustical clouds were added in high traffic areas as a way to reduce the impact of noise. Meeting rooms and phone rooms were strategically placed to encourage crosspollination amongst user groups. The kitchen-lounge area became the center node of the floor plan. This “Oasis” gives Stratus Technologies employees a place to eat lunch and unwind; boosting a stronger connection amongst everyone.Read more
