A Private Insurance Company – Boston, MA
When this private insurance company chose to partner with VC for their interior design refresh they wanted to shift their culture from a traditional office setting to a smart office design. VC was able to modernize their space by creating an intuitive flow to the office. Immediately when visitors step out of the elevator they follow the curved line of the floor right to the reception desk. The ceiling and flooring choices play a significant role in the overall feeling of the office space. The long lines of the slat ceiling echo the line of the wooden floor boards and indicate the direction guests will go next. Their curves mirror one another to create distinct areas where no physical partitions are employed. A conference room, with no walls, is situated in the middle of an open office. The space’s ability to resemble a traditional private meeting room comes from the large oval recess in the ceiling directly above the table. This space is particularly indicative of the company’s smart office goals as it allows for greater chances of collision and collaboration. Anyone might be called to join the table to discuss business.
