With their new building, Agero Inc. knew they wanted to forgo their traditional office layout for a more open plan that would promote a collegial atmosphere. VC transitioned their space to include less offices, lower workstation walls, and social and collaboration zones. Casual meeting, huddle and collaborative spaces throughout the floorplan provide more flexibility, serendipitous collaboration, and break up office clusters and open work areas. These spaces were differentiated through lighting treatments and furniture which make them feel distinct and give them a sense of enclosure amongst the open plan. VC was challenged with making the large open work area feel more interesting and energetic. Environmental graphics and a black ribbon-like soffit and floor run through the space to create movement, continuity, visual points of interest and way finding. These components were employed to demonstrate the company’s innovation and reliability rooted in their history of future-thinking.
