This growth equity company seeks to help organizations maximize their potential to develop and expand. When VC was brought on to create a new space for the firm’s Boston location, the project objective was to create an efficient and functional space that reflects this company’s full potential. The design team developed a concept that tackled this goal on two fronts: material and technology. A state-of-the-art video-conferencing boardroom housed two 103” screens and an acoustical wood ceiling. Extensive collaboration amongst all trades was conducted in order to ensure that the same acoustics, lighting, and technological capabilities perfected in this office would translate through the screen for people sitting on the other side of the conference. In terms of materials, both the reception area and elevator lobby were constructed with a play on dark and light elements in mind. The use of a variety of textures and colors created a depth within the open welcome area. This same atmosphere is replicated in the office area where low stations and glass office fronts are utilized. As a result, an uninterrupted, visual sightline was created to connect the open workplace to the private offices. Equally important were the sustainable design efforts. Green furniture initiatives were conducted and Energy Star rated appliances were purchased for use.
