Flashback Friday: 129 Parker Street, 2002

129 parker fbfWith the end goal to create a warm and welcome vestibule, we transformed the identity of “129 Parker Street” in 2002 through repositioning a once dark and hidden façade into a light, transparent and modern manufacturing facility entryway.

2Our design sought to convert this space into a more welcoming area. We began by installing two double story glass walls to reveal the warmth of the space, and the brand new interior behind. We then reconfigured the two-story foyer, adding an elevator as well as a monumental steel hung aluminum stairwell.

3Adding a burnt orange wall not only provided the space with a warm backdrop, but also strategically picks up the natural gold hues in the terrazzo stair treads and walnut handrails.

4Customized exterior lighting completed the space through the use of uplifting lights on the stucco entrance. Exterior light posts along the entire building and downlighting cast onto the glass walls highlight the transparency of the building. We ultimately changed the entire presence of 129 Parker Street by making it more open, warm and welcoming through our strategic design.

As always, thanks for flashing back with us, and stay tuned for next week’s Flashback Friday!
