Design(ers) @ Work: What Happened this Week at VC
Week 07:
Happy Friday! Take a look at what happened in and out of the office this week at VC.
As we mentioned at the end of our Captured Moments from last week, we had our end of summer company party on Saturday. More on this to come, but for now, any guesses as to where our ferry’s destination was?
Senior Principal Burt attended a field trip to Cumar, Inc. with Boston Properties for their North Atrium Activation Project in Waltham, MA. The natural beauty of these wall coverings is breathtaking!
If you’ve been following our blog, you know that we love encouraging workplace collaboration in our clients’ work spaces. Unsurprisingly, our office is full of these. Designers Catherine and Scott collaborated at this gathering spot in front of our inspiring view of the Trinity Church one sunny afternoon.Designer Faegheh pulled up a chair to Principal Sherry’s desk for a quick brainstorming session.
In the library, Liz looked at laminate samples for a project she’s working on.
Our new boardroom for Berkshire is getting closer to completion each week. This week we tested the large format screen, new AV and microphone systems, and polished up the beautiful custom table. Everyone is very happy with the results as the room continues to come together.
Of course, the outstanding panoramic views don’t hurt either!
While Berkshire nears completion, our project for a brand new technology company (soon to be announced) entered into the construction phase.
We snapped this picture of the clouds reflecting off of the John Hancock tower from the Common during a walk back from a site visit.
That same day, we visited the tower and caught this reflection of 500 Boylston, and the old John Hancock building in the mirrored windows. Over or our 25 years, we have designed well north of 50 projects in these three buildings.
Equity Office Property Management hosted an ice cream social this week for the tenants of our building, as well as 222 Berkeley. As you can see, we were very excited to attend and left with delicious (and colorful) scoops.
Signing off with a sunset shot of the South Boston Harbor. We’re still hanging on to the tail end of summer here!
