Design(ers) @ Work: Early May
Happy Friday! Take a look at how we’ve been spending the past few weeks at Visnick & Caulfield.
As the above rendering shows, the concept for a space we’re designing for a technology company at 500 Boylston is quickly coming together. Senior Principal Bob, Principal Fenglei and Designer Faegheh are designing a fresh, inviting environment to help attract and retain employees for this growing company.
With warm summer days fast approaching, two of our roof deck projects are underway. Associate Principal Paul snapped some pictures on his visit to the Hancock Tower.
Paul also took these progress shots from the roof deck being installed at 500 Boylston. These new additions are sure to get a lot of use after completion for some fresh air and great skyline views.
Construction is moving forward for this client’s renovation. Designer Faegheh snapped the above photo on her site visit this past week.
As we prepare for our own office renovation we’ve started to do some major spring cleaning and recently came across this photo collage of baby photos of past and present VC employees. Recognize anyone?
Principal Sherry and Senior Associate Daniela visited two of our projects at 177 Huntington this week. Sherry and Daniela continue to work with Volition Capital (left) and O’Brien Management (right) . The photos capture the Volition pantry with a “green monster” mural and the installation of walnut planters and bronze film in O’Brien Management’s space.
Continuing to visit our client’s, Sherry and Daniela attended MPM Capital‘s open house . In keeping with the bio-tech and lab theme of Kendall Square drinks at the event were served in beakers and test tubes. It was the perfect evening to enjoy their new outdoor space.
Senior Principal Burt attended a breakfast with recipients of the Visnick Family Traveling Fellowship at the University of Minnesota College of Design. These Architectural Graduate students will be going to China courtesy of the Fellowship. The Visnick Family wants to thank all those who contributed in Long’s memory.
Paul and Designer Catherine partook in Haworth‘s Build-A-Bike community service event at the Boys and Girls Club in Charlestown. Small teams assembled new bikes for local children in need. These two had a blast taking part in such a great cause.
Work continues on the John Hancock Manulife Innovation Lab at 601 Congress Street here in the city. Designer Jenna took some pictures when she and Paul visited last week. The clients are moving in soon and we look forward to its completion. Stay tuned.
Principal Fenglei, Senior Associate Marilyn and Designer Liz are working with a local developer to re-brand and re-position a property in Andover as a way to attract tech and start-up companies to the property. To bring more energy and brightness into the basement cafeteria we’ve proposed a vibrant color palette. We’re also working with the developer to enhance the entrance of the building.
We’ve had a lot to celebrate here at VC these past few weeks. A surprise party was thrown for Senior Associate Scott to welcome the birth of his beautiful baby girl Hannah. And we celebrated Daniela‘s birthday this week as well.
Looking forward to a beautiful weekend ahead. As always, enjoy!
