Designer Feature – Bridgette Layden

How long have you been with VC?

I’ve been with VC for just over 6 months. I started at VC in June of 2021 after graduating from Endicott’s Interior Design & Interior Architecture program.

What made you want to practice interior design?

At a young age I always found myself watching HGTV over cartoons or Disney shows. At 15, I started my first job working in a small home décor store in my hometown. I loved helping customers pick out the perfect piece to complete their home. This is where my love for interior design began. I knew at this point I wanted to go to school to study interior design.

How would you describe your design process?

By starting with the needs of the client. Once you determine the wants and needs of the client, you can begin the creative process. My design process always begins with inspiration images and sketching.

What has been the most fulfilling part of your design/creative experience?

The most fulfilling part of my design/creative experience is seeing the project fully come to life and seeing a pleased client.

What’s one thing most clients don’t know about you?

I studied abroad my junior year of college in Florence, Italy. During this time, I was lucky enough to travel to 10 different countries. One of my favorite experiences was paragliding in Switzerland.

Fun Facts!

I am very adventurous and love traveling to new places and trying new food. I am definitely a foodie.

I have a 4-year-old golden retriever named Payton who is my little ray of sunshine. We rescued her from Turkey and she only has 3 working legs.
