Designer Feature – Allison Hohn
Meet one of Visnick & Caulfield’s newest additions, Allison Hohn. Allison has been a part of VCA for just over two months and has already become a vital player on our design team. After nearly a decade in the publishing industry, Allison decided to change her professional path and go back to school to pursue a career in interior design.
A designer at heart, Allison has always had an appreciation for creative outlets of all sorts. She explores her artistic side through fashion and DIY. Whether it be knitting, sewing, or crafting, Allison finds ways to incorporate forms of self-expression into her everyday life.
Allison was drawn to the world of interior design by her interest in how a space can affect its inhabitants. “I’ve always been aware of how interior spaces can make us feel,” Allison says, noting that “the layout, finishes or organization of a space can have a real impact on mood and overall well-being.”
When it comes to her design process, Allison’s primary goal is to create a space that positively affects her client’s mood, health, and general welfare. She begins all projects by getting to know her client by ensuring she understands how they conduct their work, their goals, and their style. These crucial components guide Allison through the design process, informing her decisions for everything from finishes to space planning.
Allison has found that the most fulfilling part of her experience as a designer is the people she works with and the positive impact she can make through thoughtfully planned spaces. Her love of design and creativity is rivaled only by her love for her pug Poppy. Welcome to VCA Allison!
