Design(ers) @ Work: What Happened This Week At VC
Week 06:
Happy Friday! Take a look at what happened in and out of the office this week at VC.
We recently completed the design of a tiered boardroom for one of our long-standing clients. The LED task lighting above the boardroom table and LED lighting within the table-well work to prevent a canyon effect. This is another great design element that architectural lighting can provide!
Senior principal Burt and principal Long visited their daughters at Cornell University this past weekend. While there, they visited the newly completed Gates Hall designed by Morphosis Architects and funded by Bill and Melinda Gates.
To celebrate the completion of Keurig Green Mountain’s new headquarters, we teamed up with Office Works to host a project team appreciation dinner at The Capital Grille.
We had a great time celebrating the completion of a successful project and were honored to be a part of such an outstanding team.
The move in process has officially begun for the workplace that we designed for Amadeus. We can’t wait to see what it looks like once the plastic and cardboard is removed, and the space is being used. Stay tuned for an update over the next few weeks!
We are taking on the role of fashion designers for the upcoming IIDA Fashion Show. VC designers Catherine, Daniela and Jenna (pictured above) along with Faegheh, Liz, Isobelle and Elle met during lunch one day to go over fabric samples for our looks. The theme this year is Adaptation. We’re looking forward to seeing what the other design firms come up with as well.
Thursday marked the 13th Anniversary of 9/11. May we never forget that day.
Our well-being initiative is still underway here at the VC Headquarters. We have been taking a few short breaks throughout the day to stretch and move.
Designer Catherine organized the first ever VC Run Club on Thursday. Joined by Isobelle and Scott, the group completed a 5k around the Commons and Back Bay neighborhood. Way to go guys!
This weekend, we have our end of summer party. What are your weekend plans? Whatever they may be…
