Design(ers) @ Work: June

Happy Summer Solstice and Father’s Day!  Hope you are enjoying the start of summer.  It’s been an eventful couple of weeks since our last post.  We all have been busy collaborating on projects, meeting with clients and prospects, attending events, celebrating birthdays and reorganizing our office to adapt to the ever-changing landscape during the construction.

Principal Sherry snapped some pictures of the progress during her site visit at Boston Capital. (shown on right) Move-in will happen within the next couple of weeks.

Recently, Designer Liz visited a project site located on 128.  This space will resemble its surrounding environment and will feature roadways made with natural materials.  The windows will allow for abundant natural light to give the space a sense of openness and exposure to the outdoors.  The framing shown in the pictures is a glimpse of what you will see in the shapes for the design.  Stay tuned for further developments on this project. In Natick, Designer Cora enjoyed a sunny site visit at a lakeside retirement home.  The framing has started.  We addressed some general contractor questions.  We will continue to follow this project and share photos until its completion. (shown below)

In Cambridge, we visited a couple of finished projects to prep for some professional photos for our portfolio.  We looked outside and discovered a gorgeous view of the Back Bay and spotted our building across the river!

VC went to The Merchandise Mart for the 2015 NeoCon to learn about new products and connect with industry experts.  Senior Associate Marilyn and Designer Liz brought back fresh ideas and best practices from the conference.neocon

Phase 2 of our office construction is underway and everything is progressing nicely.  During the last couple of weeks, we have been quite nimble with our workspaces.  Interim adjustments in the office have been made to accommodate all phases of construction.  We adapted while our conference rooms were under construction and we moved into temporary/swing spaces.  So far, the library has been moved to the back room, walls have been knocked down and soon we will have additional collaborative spaces.  Here are some pictures of all the on-going construction and organizing below.
